Our last day in Chamonix

Well we had another late start to the day because of our previous late night out, which was a lot of fun.

We went for breakfast, walked around, ate some ice cream, and took a train to Argentiere. We walked around the main street (not much there, really), I bought some earrings, and Vicki bought a bracelet. Took the train back to Chamonix and went to our hotel to relax a little before our supper out.

Tonight, we had the Pierrade (a hot stone or grill), which came with copious amounts of beef and chicken, peppers, onions, sauces, and amazing potatoes. It was fun to cook our meat while eating. I was full by a certain point and Vicki had to bring out her hollow leg to consume most of the leftover meat. A very yummy meal.

After supper we returned to "The Pub" for a beer.

Chamonix has been very good to us, and has been our home for the past week. I will miss waking up, looking out the windows and see mountains and glaciers. It's a very laid back environment and offers a lot of outdoor sports. It's been fun watching kids/tweens head off with all their climbing gear to the climbing wall for the day, or seeing them head off in groups for their mountain bike lessons. These kids will be the future alpinists, climbers, and mountain bikers.
