Great Glen Way - Day Three

Day three of the Great Glen Way from South Laggan to Fort Augustus, Scotland.

Day 3 of the #greatglenway from South Laggan to Fort Augustus. Swipe 👈 It was another warm, muggy walk along the Loch Oich and Caledonian Canal. I loved the moss on the tree stumps, the crenellated concrete arch from an old railway trackbed, plenty of views of waters and people on their boats for bank weekend. I had the saddest medium size ice cream cone (mint chocolate chip), which cost £2.50. We took an hour boat cruise on Loch Ness and went to the Loch Inn for supper and a beer. #walkingtour #walk #vacation #scotland #lochness #highlands #utrackstravel

Went to the Old Rail Station restaurant for supper, but started with a 1/2 pint of Old Station Commando by Cairngorm Brewery Co. It's a room temperature beer. I finished my meal with clotted cream #icecream and it was a super creamy vanilla. #beer #scotland #speanbridge #greatglenway #walkingtour #walk #vacation #highlands #utrackstravel

Fort William - Day Two

View this post on Instagram

Within a span of ten minutes I visited two ice cream places and ate 3 scoops of ice cream. First up is Irn-Bru flavoured ice cream from Waltons. It's was a nice orange flavour. Irn-Bru is a Scottish soft drink. We strolled down the block to The Tarton Stag for more ice cream. I couldn't decide between 4 flavours, so I bought two scoops: 1 of Cranachan (raspberry and oatmeal) with Ben Nevis whisky and a scoop of Ben Nevis Whisky, which could use more whisky. Tomorrow we start our walk on The Great Glen Way. #icecream #scotland #fortwilliam #greatglenway #walkingtour #walk #highlands

Which one is mine? This restaurant listed a bunch of draft beer on their menu but all they had was Tennents and Somersby cider. They were running out of everything. #fortwilliam #scotland #beer #vacation
