Sun and Sand at the Beach

Today, I went with my nieces Rachel, Jen and her husband Kevin to Sandbanks in Picton. We laid on the beach and soaked up the rays while we slept, read or watched the kiddies playing near us. We went in the water a couple of times and the water was really cold at first, then you get used to the temperature while swimming around and finding warm spots. We stopped on our way back for some food: pogo for me, small fries for Rachel, hot dog for Kevin and Jen and Kevin shared a poutine (fries with gravy and cheese curds). We also stopped at Slickers in Bloomfield for ice cream. Everyone in my family loves ice cream. We all had the campfire ice cream flavour and it really does taste like roasted marshmallows from the campfire. My second scoop was margarita, which tasted faintly of lime. It needs more lime and that salt texture or margarita flavour. Now we are on our way back to the cottage and relax for the evening.

Antiques & Bloomfield

I'm visiting my sister this weekend at her cottage on Lake Ontario. Today, I went with my sister and brother-in-law to Bloomfield, Ontario, which is a quaint little village with shops for tourists. We also visited antique shops along the way to Bloomfied from Consecon and we've bought some green beans for dinner, cheese bread and sugared donuts. My brother-in-law and I started to get hungry and we stopped for lunch, which was black bean cilantro soup and egg salad sandwich. After lunch we went down the other side of the street and then we went to Slickers for ice cream. We each had Campfire Cream flavour and it tasted like roasted marshmallows and I also had a scoop of Chocolate Orange. My sister's had Butter Tart for her second scoop. The ice cream was smooth, creamy and all natural. We're on our way back to the cottage and our Cabana Boy (brother-in-law) will be getting our drinks and will build us a fire.

Check out my sweet ride at the Antique shop:
